Enhance the look of your fire pit by using colorful fire pit glass. All of our fire pit glass is sold by the pound. For brilliant sparkles lay it on thick or for a translucent effect layer it lightly. Make sure to follow the guidelines supplied for recommended levels of glass and considering what you would like the finished product to be.

The amount of glass depends on personal preference and desired flame appearance. The general guideline for covering a burner is a thickness of 1 1/2" of glass. To create a peaked effect use glass on top of the lava rock to allow more oxygen to impact the flame. The thicker the glass the more striking the effect will be in your fire pit.

To find out exactly how much glass is needed for a fireplace: Multiply the front width (inches) x depth (inches) x fill level usually 3" to 4" inches of glass. Divide that total by 231 and then multiply by 12 to get your total glass in pounds.
