Vent Free Fireplaces
At Southern Hearth and Patio, due to new,multiple code restrictions on vent-less appliances, we no longer recommend using vent free fireboxes when other options may be available. Vent Free Fireplaces CAN NOT be converted into a vented system later. However, we also understand that there are some instances where venting is just not an option (interior walls, middle of basements, middle floor condos ect.) and therefore offer these boxes. We just want you to have the available information to make an educated decision.
